DALLAS, TEXAS - SKYFIBER, a global leader in Optical Wireless Broadband technology announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC), in conjunction with Crossfire Media, has presented the SkyLINK Optical Wireless Broadband product with a 2010 Wireless Backhaul Distinction Award, sponsored by TMC’s 4G Wireless Evolution (4GWE) Website.
“We are very pleased at receiving a 4GWE Wireless Backhaul Distinction Award, and we believe it is a harbinger of the critical role that SKYFIBER’s innovative Optical Wireless Broadband technology will play in addressing the telecommunications industry’s impending Wireless Backhaul bottlenecks,” said David Achim, President and CEO
“Today’s networks are overburdened by a demand for bandwidth that continues to grow at an exponential rate. As more data-intensive devices and applications are introduced to the market such as the iPad, Droid, and other smartphones, our wireless data networks are facing significant capacity challenges. The solutions of yesterday’s 3G world cannot fully address the backhaul crisis being generated by today’s new 4G/LTE deployments,” said Philip Peterson, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations
SKYFIBER’s Optical Wireless Broadband (OWB) technology uses infrared light to provide over 1Gbps of Broadband connectivity at a fraction of the cost of Microwave, Millimeter wave, or In-Ground Fiber. OWB technology is ideal for relieving Wireless Backhaul bottlenecks, as well as for channeling highly secure data transactions, connecting business/medical/educational campuses and a host of other vital applications. SKYFIBER’s OWB is highly secure, compact, and easily deployable, and it can take as little as one day to get a 1Gig link up and running.
“SKYFIBER’s SkyLINK product offers a unique and compelling combination of high-bandwidth, low cost, and rapid deployment that is simply unmatched by traditional Fiber, Micro/Millimeter wave, or Cellular RF solutions,” said Christina Richards, Director of Marketing
This fact was clear to the experts evaluating companies for the 4GWE Backhaul Distinction Award
“SKYFIBER deserves the acknowledgment for their achievements in advancing 4G and providing solutions in the marketplace,” said Carl Ford, Co-Founder and Community Developer, Crossfire Media
“Optical Wireless Broadband technology that is the basis for SKYFIBER’s SkyLINK product has proven its superiority and certainly impressed our panel of judges. It is an honor to grant this award to SKYFIBER and we certainly look forward to more innovative solutions from them in the future,” said the CEO of TMC Rich Tehrani
The 2010 Wireless Backhaul Distinction Awards winners are published in the November 4GWE e-newsletter and on the 4GWE Web site. |
